Update 12/6/07: KHS Class of 1998 Class Reunion
Greetings Classmates!
I pray that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that we’ll all have a great Holiday Season.
The Reunion Planning Committee will meet on Saturday, December 22nd at 7:00pm. (Location TBA)
We are diligently working on several things for our reunion weekend, so to update everyone on a couple of things, here is a list of what we have discussed and are currently working on:
1. The Class of 1998 reunion will be held in the Fall of 2008. This gives us enough time to plan and to build interest among all of our classmates. Here are the tentative activities the committee has discussed so far:
Friday:
1. Tailgate and Football game (early evening) and/or
2. Meet and greet (early evening)
Saturday:
1. Day in the Park for families (10am-until) and
2. Official Reunion Celebration – Reception and Dance (8pm-until)
Sunday:
1. Brunch Farewell to our classmates (Dutch style @ restaurant, 10am-until)
2. (Optional) Sunday worship Fellowship
2. We will also establish a KHS class of 1998 bank Account. Ashley Heath, Davene’ Swinson, and myself (Kim McNair) will have access to the account. We will also need to obtain a Federal Tax ID # from the IRS for purposes of opening the account. We want everyone to feel comfortable about where our money is going. Therefore, with an account in the name of our class reunion, we can make our checks out to "KHS Class of 1998 Reunion" rather than to an individual person. And it will be much easier for us to keep the money straight, and to keep records of expenditures.
3. Torise Battle is currently working on locating other classmates whom we have not been able to reach. Tyrome Ward is collecting contact information for everyone in order to compile an official contact roster for our class. If you have information for Torise or if you want to send Tyrome your contact info, please send a message to khs.classof1998@gmail.com.
4. Jimmy Ryles and Torise continue to research ways we can advertise as the reunion date approaches. They will contact local and state newspapers and also research other avenues of publicity.
As always, we welcome your suggestions and input. So if you have theme ideas, or even ideas on fundraising, just send us an email at khs.classof1998@gmail.com. Until next time take care and Happy Holidays!

Update 10/28/07: KHS Class of 1998 Class Reunion
Hello again Everyone !
It's been a month since my last message, and I just wanted to touch base and give you all a quick update on what we’ve been working on so far. The following people have each volunteered to help with planning and/or serving on the reunion committee:
Torise Battle
Malika Waters Becton (Theme ideas)
Camille Braxton
Cecelia Bryant (Memorium ideas)
Nicole Moseley Dubose
Shena Harrison
Ashley Heath
Nina Kornegay
Kim McNair (Committee Chair and Blog Moderator)
Shemekka Coleman Miles (Location ideas)
Stephanie Mitchell
Jimmy Ryles
Shannon Sherrod
Denairina Smith
General Sutton
Davene Swinson
Tyrome Ward
DeVashi Woods (Facebook Group Moderator)
We now have a Facebook Group Page, Kinston High School Class of 1998; we still need a moderator for our Myspace Page (TBA), and of course you have found your way to our Blog Spot. These sites will help us to disseminate information and to keep everyone updated on event information, registration, and contacts. We should all be pretty internet savvy by now, so the websites should be easily. So get linked up … we welcome your comments and feedback on our progress and your overall anticipation of the reunion :o).
Also, it would be great if we could include occasional updates on our Blag Spot from those of you who would like to send a personal message or photo to all of our classmates encouraging them to get involved and stay in touch.
Message and Photo submission guidelines: Please email your message and/or photos to khs.classof1998@gmail.com. Personal Messages can be sent as email text or saved as a word.doc. Images should be saved as JPEGs or PNGs. Multiple photos should be copied into a folder and compressed as .zip or .sit. Please limit the email attachment file size to 1MB. If necessary send more than one email.
If you have any questions about preparing or sending a personal message or image, just send us a note. We look forward to seeing what you send! And for all of you bloggers out there, just let me know if you have any ideas for our website :o).
We are still currently scouting locations for the event. We are looking at Memorial Weekend, and the 1st and 2nd weekends in June as possible dates; though this is subject to change depending on everyone's availability and the amount of response we receive. We are researching information on convention centers in the area as well as hotel banquet locations. We will also inquire about hosting a possible meet and great at the Arts Council during our reunion weekend. If anyone has any ideas on other possible locations please let us know.
We are also anticipating submitting a series of announcements in the Kinston Free Press as well as Greenville's Daily Reflector in order to make sure we reach as many classmates as possible. We may also want to consider a radio announcement during the weeks prior to the event as the date draws near.
That's all I have for now. Be on the lookout for the next update.......until then, take care.

Update 9/27/07: KHS Class of 1998 Class Reunion
Hello again,
I just wanted to update you all on a few things. I have gotten contact info for many people. I have contacted most of you via email, and I continue to receive additions to the list daily. If you have additional contact info for the classmates you have kept in contact with, please email us at khs.classof1998@gmail.com.
Also, a few people have mentioned a couple of great ideas for the reunion. A Memorium has been suggested for all of our classmates who have passed away. So far we have come up with the following list of people. If we have neglected to mention anyone please let us know.
Kamesha Dove
Lynwood Edwards
Sherna Green
Justin Tingen
There are a few people who passed, that did not actually graduate with us (i.e. Johnathan Holoman). The committee will discuss including those people as well. If you all have any questions, suggestions or ideas, send an email to khs.classof1998@gmail.com.
Take care.

Reunion Annoucement 9/27/07
Greetings Fellow Classmates!
It's been 10 years already, and it is now time for our first ever class reunion. I know that this may be the first time I have contacted a few of you, and I hope that each of you are doing well. Many of us have done truly great things since graduation....college, marriage, kids, and careers. So get ready to mix, mingle and get caught up on who's been doing what for the past 10 years!
I have started the planning preparations for the event and I am gathering contact info for all of our classmates (~168). If you have email addresses or numbers for those people you have kept in contact with over the years, it would be helpful to get them to me whenever you can. I am also forming a planning committee, so if anyone is interested please let me know. Especially our senior class officers...... That way we will have a strong foundation and can begin to cover the logistics of the event, i.e. date, venue, etc. Together we can make this an event to remember!
I will keep each of you updated on the details as they develop. Be sure to contact me if you have any questions or ideas . I look forward to touching base with each of you soon. Take care and God Bless.
Once a Viking, Always a Viking.....
Yours in Viking Spirit,
Kim McNair
